Wings over was born from a simple obsession: creating the perfect chicken wing. Founded in Boston in 2008, our story began in a tiny kitchen on Huntington Avenue, where chef and founder Marcus Ellis spent two years perfecting sauces and cooking techniques before serving his first order.
What started as a late-night craving turned into a culinary movement. Marcus believed that wings over a great recipe could bring anyone together — students, families, sports fans, food lovers. He was right. Word spread fast, and within a year, lines stretched down the block.
Today, Wings over proudly serves Boston's most passionate food community from our flagship location on Huntington Ave. Every wing is hand-sauced, every side made fresh, and every guest treated like family. The wingsover difference is not just in the food — it's in the spirit behind it.

Chef Marcus Ellis prepares his first batch of signature wings in a rented kitchen on Huntington Ave. Friends and neighbors become the first taste-testers — and they can't stop coming back.
Wings over officially opens its doors at 325 Huntington Ave, Boston. The first week sees a 2-hour wait — and a full dining room every night. Boston falls in love with the wingsover experience.
Boston Magazine names Wings over the city's #1 Wings Restaurant. The recognition brings a new wave of fans and cements our reputation as the gold standard for wings in New England.
We launch our online ordering system and expand the menu to 40+ sauce varieties. Delivery becomes available across Boston, bringing wingsover to guests who can't visit in person.
During the pandemic, Wings over pivots to contactless delivery and donates over 10,000 meals to Boston healthcare workers and frontline staff. Our community showed up for us — we showed up for them.
We complete a full restaurant renovation, expanding seating and adding a private event space. A new sustainability program launches — compostable packaging, local sourcing partnerships, and a zero-waste kitchen initiative.
